Notice of Public Posting and Hearing: SHA’s Proposed 2023 Annual Plan and MTW Supplement

The Spokane Housing Authority’s (SHA’s) draft 2023 Annual Public Housing Agency (PHA) Plan & Moving to Work (MTW) Supplement is now available for public review and comments. Please see the notice below for more information on the proposed changes and how you can get involved in shaping the future of SHA.

ABOUT THE DRAFT

As a new MTW agency effective January 1, 2023, the US Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) requires that SHA submit the Annual PHA Plan as well as an MTW Supplement, which includes additional attachments and supporting documentation. In accordance with HUD public process requirements and MTW communication best practices, SHA aligned proposed changes into a streamlined version for public review. This easy-to-read version includes the proposed Annual Plan, draft MTW Supplement, and all other required attachments and information.

As of August 28, 2022, the draft plan is available for review online at spokanehousing.org and through a link on SHA’s Facebook page. For more information on SHA’s Moving To Work demonstration program, please visit spokanehousing.org/mtw.

Following a period of public comment and public hearing, a final draft will be submitted to HUD by October 15, 2022, for an effective date of January 1, 2023.

Public comments will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. local time on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. SHA welcomes your feedback and now provides multiple ways to share comments and make your voice heard.

You can also give your comments live at the public hearing on SHA’s 2023 Annual Plan & MTW Supplement during SHA’s Special Board Meeting on Wednesday October 12, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. (please visit the Special Board Meeting’s Event page at spokanehousing.org).

SHA invites all clients, tenants, landlords, and the general public to attend the hearing either in-person at the SHA Board Room (25 W. Nora Ave., Spokane, WA 99205), virtually via Microsoft Teams (meeting link available at spokanehousing.org) or via conference call [dial (509) 703-5933 and enter Conference ID# (available on the Special Board Meeting’s Event page at spokanehousing.org)].
