Northeast Washington Housing Solutions has implemented basic bedroom requirements. These requirements will be enforced on new lease-ups.

• Window(s) is required. If designed to be opened; must have a permanently installed lock

• Room has to be a finished room

• Must have a direct permanent heat source

• Two outlets or one outlet and one permanent light fixture

• Minimum room size 8’ x 10’

• Regular size entrance/doorway into room

• Bedroom size cannot change during the occupancy of a family

• A unit where the only bedroom (1-bedroom) is located in a loft and the loft meets the requirements for a bedroom with the exception of a regular size entrance to the room.
